We recommend aluminium surdos for bateria and marching band use, being more robust than wooden ones and louder.Where a wooden drum cracks, a metal drum usually just dents, and can be persuaded back into shape with a wooden mallet. Wooden surdo drums also need expensive hard cases for protection.

 

We supply hide skins on your surdos at the same price as nylon (and they sound much mellower); if you want hide heads please let us know when ordering.If you say nothing your surdos will arrive with plastic heads.
