We are specialists in samba percussion with over four decades of experience playing in and leading childrens and adult samba school baterias (rhythm orchestras) in Rio de Janeiro, as well as in the UK. We use this experience to select for you the best performing samba drums at the best prices.

We import our lightweight aluminium samba drums direct from Brazil, and we carry all spare parts, in stock.

We can amend any of our packages to your specific requirements. If you want bigger sets please call us, as adding two smaller sets together is not the best way forwards - and possibly not the cheapest option. You need to change the balance of the instruments if the total number of instruments increases.

Please note that these drums in our packs and kits are hand made in artisan workshops in Brazil. There may occasionally be minor imperfections on delivery. Minor dents or scratches on these drums will not affect their sound or lifespan. They are made of top quality anodised aluminium so that if they recieve heavy impact they will usually buckle rather then crack, and can be persuaded back into shape with a rubber mallet.

In Rio these drums last for decades of extremely heavy use, as they are so easy to knock back into shape, and it is easy to replace all the fittings (which we can generally supply from stock).

Our surdos and repiniques have skins at both ends and can therefore be tuned up without damaging the drum. A drum sold with a skin at one end only is not a samba surdo or repinique, whatever the manufacturers choose to call it.
